Fedora 18 Beta Screen Shots and Review

Fedora 18 beta has finally been released, after much delay.  If you’re a follower of the Red Hat world, then you know Fedora 18 is likely going to serve as part of the upstream base for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, which is reportedly supposed to be released in beta form sometime next year.  Also, I feel Fedora is now really offering a great user experience and deserves to be explored as a primary desktop distro.

Part of the reason for the delay was upgrading the installer from anaconda to whatever it is they’re using now.  While it’s still in beta mode, I think it’s visually very pleasing, and will be very inviting for newer linux users looking to install for the first time when Fedora 18 is finally released.

Here’s a few screen shots from the new installer.
